The term Repetitive Strain Injury includes disorders such as:IMG_1450
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Cubital tunnel syndrome
  • Guyon canal syndrome
  • Lateral epicondylitis
  • Tendonitis of the wrist or hand

Diagnose is usually based on history and clinical assessment, but what patient explains us is so useful to make a clear diagnose:

“I’m always sitting down while working. But now I need to move every 2-5minutes, because my forearms and hands are like with pins inside. I’ve made massage sessions, taking pallis… But nothing is confortable enough”

IMG_1449Then, as hand therapists we need to take all info about his/her daily activities: postures, exercises, what make it worse and what make it better, between others…

As HT, you could be possible to have a patient suffering of RSI. That’s why we need to know about ergonomics and devices which make it easier for our patients. Most of the times it’ll be the perfect treatment for them: their own and personalized techniques!
